Macy's Artistry Palette - Impulse Beauty

Recently I came to know that Macy's has its own makeup brand and its called Impulse.. SHOCK!!
A couple of weeks ago I was at macy's cosmetic area and they have holiday gifts packs and holiday products and I saw "Day Eye Palette", I searched for brand but there was no brand name, it just says distributed by Macy's. It was just $9.99, I thought lets give it a try and it worked good, then I googled and search on internet that where on the earth this palette came in Macy's.. So then I found out it's macy's own brand Impulse.
Then last weekend I again went to macy's [I go Macy's like it's my second home, lol] and I saw a big big palette and it say's 'Macy's Impulse Artistry Palette', it's a size of a folder and there is a zipper, you open it and there are colors on the both sides.

there is plastic sheet on the both sides, it contains 66 eye shadows, 11 eyeliners, 9 contour shades, 3 blushes and 7 lip colors. In Total 96 shades.... OMG
these are the contour and blush powders

light shades can be use as highlights, dark as contour, the three shades in upper right corner are blushes..
Eyeliners and lip colors have extra layer of plastic wrap on it which is to prevent them from powdery eye shadows, blushes and contours.
on the left of the palette the first column is all liners and on the right side of palette the first row and last column right under the contours are lip colors,
This palette has no brushes but c'mon 96 shades in just 35 dollars... Not a big deal
On Macy's Website it says $35.50 but at my macy's it was $35.

The colors are nice, they are not one stroke colors, you have to build them up and use the product three or four times to get the shade on your eye. they don't fall out and they have 5-6 hour staying power with primer. There are matte, shimmery both shades.. it has day time and night time both type of colors. To those who don't use makeup often or not into makeup, this one palette can be enough for them.
eye liners are just okay, the good side it you get multiple shades of eyeliners which is so cool, if you put thick liner and look up without letting it dry or setting it will go on your lid. so be careful on that.
lip colors are nice, you get browns, pinks and a peachy shade, couple of nudes too. they don't have any scent, they are not glossy, staying power is enable till you eat something.. overall they are not bad.

Final Thought: This big palette in such low price is really good, you get the drugstore quality in cheaper then drugstore price. Some of the colors are really good. This palette is when you just want to use only one things and don't want to go through all your makeup collection or you don't have time to find something, you grab this, put this on and ready to go. If you are looking for drugstore quality in cheap price this palette is yours..

Estee Lauder Day Wear BB Cream Review

Hi All,
I hope you all had a great weekend, I went to Macy's on Saturday and there were sales going on and I think they started holiday season sales and gifts. Well I got something from Estee Lauder and that's day wear BB cream...

 It comes in only two shades, light and medium and it costs $40. Its a high end BB cream so I wanted it to really work and I expected to see flawless results.
Here are the claims this product states

• All at once, Moisture, Protection and flawless Perfection
• Plus the most effective anti-oxidant power ever.
• This lightweight BB creme creates and instant, even-toned, healthy look.
• Delivers high-performance, oil-free hydration and helps to control excess surface oil
• Powerfully protects with our proven super anti-oxidant complex and SPF 35.

So I tried it on, in the first it shows very light coverage but after 10 - 15 minutes it gave medium coverage. it didn't hide all of the blemishes or other spots completely so it wasn't a flawless look. I didn't feel my skin moisture through out the day, creme smells like sunscreen, it sure is lightweight, I mean I didn't feel heavy or wearing something on my face all day. it did even out the skin tone but it didn't do the wonder. My skin is not oily so I can't tell about oil control, but it didn't make my skin shiny. Overall I am not impressed, like why spend $40 on it when I can get these features easily from a drugstore BB creme. I don't know about that anti-oxidant thingy but I didn't feel any super duper change or miracle here.

BB Cream - L'Oreal Youth Code, Revlon Photoready, Neutrogena Visibly Even

Hey People

Today I am going to talk about BB creams, I was using three different BB creams in past month and they were all drugstore BB creams. L'Oreal Youth Code, Revlon Photoready, Neutrogena Visibly Even.

Lets start from the worst experience and it is ..... Revlon

Revlon Photoready BB cream Claims:

- Hydrates, Smoothes, Conceal and Protects with SPF 30

- Gives skin a brightened, perfected look

May be it does hydrates but I couldn't see, DOES NOT smoothes my skin, definitely doesn't conceal, I mean I couldn't feel any difference before and after this BB cream, like my face looks exactly the same.. Yes it protects with SPF 30, DOES NOT brightened and DOES NOT give me perfect look... Conclusion a BIG NO! No coverage at all, not even light coverage.

On the second number its Neutrogena Visibly Even.
 Neutrogena Visibly Even Claims:

• Reduce the look of dark spots, blotchiness, and blemish marks in just 4 weeks

• Protect skin from future dark spots and sun damage

• Brighten and even skin tone

• Improve skin’s clarity and radiance

I does reduce dark spots but only when you apply it, yes it protects from sunlight because it have SPF 30, it does brighten and even the skin tone but only little bit, and same for last claim. It looks that its working when you apply the cream on your face but staying power is so not good, even in an hour you can see the BB cream is gone... So again NO from me! very light coverage

the final BB cream is L'Oreal Youth Code 

This is the one which works best them all, it claims

•  instantly evens
•  illuminates
•  perfects
•  moisturizes and protects skin. 
• In one week, tone and texture are improved and skin is healthier looking.
•  Contains Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Yes it evens the skin tone, it illuminates lil bit, doesn't perfects but does good job, yes it moisturizes and gives the moisturizing type of glow which I don't like so I use translucent powder and it works great, and it gives me healthy looking skin,

It is light to medium coverage and when you use translucent powder you enhance the coverage, it stays on your skin for 6-8 hours which is great.

Clinique Dramatically different Moisturizing lotion + Review

Hope everybody is doing great, Today I am gonna talk about Clinique Dramatically different Moisturizing lotion +. Last week I was in the mall and I saw that clinique is giving away free 7 piece gift with the purchase of $27, so I bought something which made me eligible for that free gift. YAY!

Here is the image of free cosmetics I got. It contain four color eye shadow palette, one lipstick, one high impact mascara, a makeup remover liquid bottle, a custom repair serum,  a small sample size Dramatically different Moisturizing lotion + and a cute makeup bag.

 I have used Dramatically different Moisturizing lotion before but that one didn't have + sign on it,  so may be this is the new and improved formula, I am using it every night before going to bed on my face, and it really made my skin so soft. my skin looks healthy in the morning when I wash my face. when I used the one without + sign it wasn't bad though but it wasn't as good as with the + sign, may be I'm confusing here so the conclusion is that Dramatically different Moisturizing lotion + by clinique is awesome,  I myself don't use moisturizer on my face because they make my face feel oily and I really don't like that feeling.
I don't have dry or oily skin, its normal but whenever I tried to use moisturizer on my face in the past it gave my face oily shine and weird feeling that's why I avoid putting  moisturizer on my face.

I will end with the statement that clinique Dramatically different Moisturizing lotion + is the best lotion I have ever used and I will definitely recommend this product. It's light weight, it doesn't feel oily, after applying you feel your skin soft, it doesn't give you a feeling of wearing something on your face and it gives you visibly good effect is few days.

I am definitely gonna continue using it ...

Baking doesn't mean to put your face in Oven!

Hi All,

I started this blog today and wanted to write the first blog today as well.
A couple of months earlier I started to read or hear the term baking your face and saw girls putting some kind of white stuff on their face and then brushing that off. I was really kinda confused that what kind of baking is that, I was only familiar with the bread, cakes, pasta and other eatable baking techniques. So When I saw that white powdery stuff is baking your face my first thoughts were like may be its a beauty hack of using baking soda/baking powder on your face to make it pop.
 Then I literally tried that on, putting baking soda on my face, I know you are thinking that I should have at least google it or research about it before just putting baking soda on my face but once bad time comes you never think anything, and it hurt, it hurt a lot.. the areas I saw girls putting white powder is closer to eyes so few particles flew in my eyes and all my makeup went off with tears... But now I know you don't use baking powder to bake your face! ;)

Lets come to the real white powdery stuff, its translucent powder... WHATTTT??!!!
I had translucent powder as new as I don't know what but I never knew that's what all youtube girls are using.
So When you are done your primer, foundation, concealer you put translucent powder with fluffy brush under your eye over the area you conceal, over the nose, under the bronzed area of your checks(if you want) and on the chin, wait ten minutes or complete your lips, contouring or other things and then brush all the powder away, blend the edges of the baked areas and you're good to go. Now you are baked version of yourself.. lol

PS. I saw some people saying cooking your face, well its the same as baking your face. Thank God I realized that before I put spices on my face to really cook it.

Mission Statement

Hi People,

I am sitting in front of my computer and as usual doing nothing and randomly I thought lemme check my very very old blog which I created like years ago and by the time it went forgotten and it was really forgotten, I couldn't find it anywhere. I just remember it was about emo and their fashion, quotes, style, life.. ahh my school life lol

But then I just created this blog out of no where, I named it makeup-N-review because that's what I'm doing these days, I am a new bee in makeup world and before that I was a tomboy, well I am still a "tomboy" ;)  but I thought lets try makeup just for adventure so here I am. Yeah I was talking about this blog, I named it and then it was available, I mean really?? it takes minimum an hour to find a username or the URL, the one you really want is always taken and here my first attempt was available.. YAY

I hope I will see you all really soon, may be as soon as half an hour with my first make up review blog, who knows :D
